The first thing you will notice when golfing at The Pines is the friendly service; however, the golf course design is exceptional as well. When playing our 15th tee, golfers overlook the beautiful lake as they stand atop the dam separating the lake from the Chippewa River. We offer championship men's and women's tees as well as forward tees for seniors and juniors. During the fall, when the leaves begin to drop, our course avoids the normal hassles that most golf courses encounter. This is due to a vast amount of pine trees that surround the course. This is truly a must play golf course.
Scorecard
-
Hole #1
A short par 4 right out of the box. Players hitting driver must hit a draw to avoid the trees on the right. -
Hole #2
This par 5 favors a draw as well. Longer hitters can get home in two. Try to leave your layup at the 150 yard marker. Anything more brings the pond into play. Third shot is slightly uphill and required a little extra club. -
Hole #3
Straight forward par 4. Tee shot is relatively straight. Second shot is slightly downhill, so club down or risk going out of bounds behind the green. -
Hole #4
Bunkers protect the right and left sides. This hole always plays about a half club longer, so take that into account when choosing your club. Short is not a bad miss. -
Hole #5
Your best chance at birdie so far. Avoid the fairway bunkers on your tee shot, and most players can get home in two. -
Hole #6
Hug the left side of the fairway for the best approach angle into the green. Avoid long and left at all costs. -
Hole #7
Short par 4 with a premium on tee shot accuracy. Fairway slopes hard from right to left. Anything hit down the left side of the fairway will funnel into the trees. Uphill second shot always plays about a half club longer. -
Hole #8
Bunkers protect the front, left and right side of the green. Best miss is always long. Missing right brings the pond into play, but the left greenside bunker is always a tough up and down. -
Hole #9
Good par 4 to close out the front nine. Tee shot favors a cut. Uphill second shot always plays a club longer. -
Hole #10
Fairway is tighter than it looks. Missing long provides a tough up and down. -
Hole #11
Hug the left side of the fairway on your tee shot. Trees along the right obstruct your second shot and bring the pond into play. -
Hole #12
Longest par 3 on the course. Plenty have hit driver into the teeth of the wind. Make sure to take enough club to get to the green. -
Hole #13
Straightforward par 5. Tee shots down the right side of the fairway provide the best angle for your second shot. OB is tight on the left side of the green. -
Hole #14
The trees surrounding the green can make it tough to feel the wind off the lake. Short is better than long as there isn't much room behind the green. -
Hole #15
Beautiful tee shot overlooking Lake Isabella. Any shots hit onto the hill will feed down toward the fairway. The right edge of the fairway is generally the safest line. Uphill the rest of the way to the green. -
Hole #16
Short par 4 which favors a cut. Longer hitters risk running through the fairway into the trees. -
Hole #17
This par 4 favors a draw, but longers hitters can take it right over the tree on the left edge of the fairway. Left greenside bunker can make for a tricky up and down. Best misses are short and right. -
Hole #18
Good chance at birdie on this finishing hole. The fairway begins to narrow inside 100 yards, so there is a definite risk to hitting driver. Those able to find the fairway will be left with a short wedge shot into a generous green.
